Background

The people who grew up loving Streets Ice Cream had outgrown us. They’d gone on to live grown-up lives, with serious interests.

Idea

We cast an ice cream as a news anchor. Cornetto delivered irreverent news bulletins based upon what grown-ups were searching, reading and watching online.

How Cornetto became an autonomous news anchor bot.

Step 1. Cornetto was fed a whole bunch of data, rapidly teaching him about politics, pop culture and sport.

Step 2. Powered by this data, he became an autonomous news-bot connected to everything going on in the world.

Our news anchor Cornetto appeared in over 7 million pre-roll bulletins.

How it worked

Results: 42.7% lift in ad recall – View through rate 50% higher than benchmark – Cornetto sales up 34% – Streets ice cream sales increased 4%.
