I'm skateboarder working in advertising as Creative Technology Director. I have worked in creative, design and as a Technical Director (I can build ideas).
I love change, design, innovation and no bullshit ideas that people actually connect with.
When working on ideas there are a few key principles that I use to guide thinking:
1. Connected creativity, everything is digital and everything is connected.
2. Innovation is key to creating brand value that is relevant and useful.
Recently my work for the Sydney Opera House was awarded Australia’s first Cannes Gold Lion for mobile marketing, along with a total of 10 Cannes Lions including silver and bronze across digital and direct. This led to DDB Sydney being one of Australia's most awarded agencies at Cannes 2016.
Coincidentally – in a world where ‘mobile first’ has become a familiar catchphrase – 11 years earlier, the first advertising campaign I worked on was a mobile film festival, while at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand. ‘Rubbish Film Festival’ was also awarded two gold lions at Cannes, in Promo and Media.
I have held roles within some of the region's most recognised agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, DDB New Zealand and TBWA Sydney.
My speciality and focus is on where creativity and technology intersect. Having a deep, practical knowledge of software development and design – along with a passion for ideas, gives me a unique point of view and approach to problem solving which is reflected in the contemporary, cutting edge nature of my work.
